INTO THE LIGHT is the bronze portrait of a woman with her head tilted towards the sun.
Into the Light is the first bronze I created after leaving The Frink. It was important to me after my sculpture training to create sculpture in the material which gives such presence to a work.
Although ‘Into the Light’ is unusual in being, in some ways, unfinished, I created her this way as it was more important to show the fine facial features and especially the curve of her neck.
It is made using the traditional lost wax method and is Edition 2 of 9. The Plinth is Kilkenny Marble.
The measurements are 9″ x 7″ x 1’1″ (22x17x32cm) Weight 18lbs (8 kilo)
